• To be responsible for the day to day operation/management of an Ofsted regulated residential provision.
• To ensure the highest standards of emotional, social and physical care, promoting best outcomes for young people through research, development and partnership.
• To contact agencies to fill vacancies.
• To deliver highly motivated leadership and development to the team for which you are responsible.
• Ensure that training is relevant, robust, and effective and that the training program is dynamic, adaptive to the needs of current residents.

• To develop high standards of communication with social work teams, the Virtual School, clinicians, and other key partners.
• To ensure the provision maximize resources within a planned timescale and ensure all services are delivered in a way which maximizes the participation of young people, respects their rights and is responsive to their wishes and views
• To take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
• To ensure all safeguarding risks are acted upon immediately and the relevant action taken to mitigate the risk.
• Communicate effectively, in a timely way with all agencies and internal reports
• Undertake and participate in any required training programmed.
• Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with external providers as an integral part of the care pathway for children.
• To be able to challenge, in a sensitive way, engender collaboration for educational achievement and attainment, and foster a mutual responsibility for outcomes for all young people.
• Ensuring that the educational needs of children in residence are assessed and provided for, liaising with educational professionals producing Personal Education Plans.
• Take overall responsibility for all staff, delegating effectively and appropriately.
• To develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with partner agencies and clinical teams to ensure individual assessment plans and support packages are achievable and adhered to.
• To ensure leadership and management of staff including annual appraisal, regular individual supervision and induction and development is available to all staff working in these provisions.
• To retain up to date information relating to any legislative changes and disseminate this information throughout the service as required, including policy revision.
• To develop and ensure maintenance of monitoring systems in accordance with Health and safety requirements, ensuring that the necessary staff training is undertaken and recorded.
• Establish and ensure maintenance of administrative systems for children’s s casework records, referrals, and assessments, including risk assessments, to ensure that staff apply them, and that confidentiality, standards and boundaries are adhered to.
• Ensuring that the physical buildings, fixtures, and fittings are maintained to a high standard and in good decorative order and is secure.
• Ensure there are effective formal and informal communication channels within the provision, that policy and procedural information is adhered to, so staff can always operate knowledgeably and safely.
• To ensure a robust and dynamic induction procedure is adhered to.
• To adhere to the provision policy and procedures on recruitment.
• Work in partnership with other professionals and agencies and develop and maintain a positive public relations image for the whole trust.
• Ensure the home is always Ofsted ready and prepare to respond to all requirements.
• Achieve and maintain an Ofsted rating of at least Good, with Outstanding being the goal within 3 years.
• Ensure clear, consistent, and professional record keeping, including audit and supervision.
• Ensure that complaints are handled quickly, effectively, and sensitively.
• Ensure that all safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensure that the provisions function in such a manner that staff, and children understand, recognize, and celebrate the diversity of cultures and beliefs within the local and wider community.
• Ensure that records in the provisions are stored and held in a manner which is compliant with regulation and policy.
• To be responsible for establishing and monitoring quality assurance compliance with Ofsted requirements and internal and external monitoring arrangements.
• To oversee the management of all the children’s individual support packages to ensure that they continue to be relevant and responsive to the individuals’ needs and wishes.
• To develop a shared planning approach in partnership with children, their relatives and other professionals involved in their care, if appropriate.
• Take the lead in ensuring an open culture, one in which young people and families feel that they can make representation and that they are listened to.
• To ensure that the health needs of young people are assessed and provided for, developing, and maintaining effective working partnerships with health professionals.
• Ensure that participation in a range of therapeutic, social, and recreational activities/opportunities for individual or groups of young people is encouraged.

Become a senior support worker who guides the team to create an environment where our young people can thrive. You’ll make sure your team and young people feel happy, safe and motivated, and that the home operates to our high standard, as well as stepping up to deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers when required. The role offers real variety, allowing you to really get stuck in and make a difference.
The role of a senior support worker will involve:
• Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
• Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
• Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate
• Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift and Managers.
• Maintaining and promoting residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Esland and Ofsted
• Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person and assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Programs
• Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximising opportunities for their development
• Providing support to the deputy/manager of the home whilst on shift and performing senior duties as directed
• To ensure that the health needs of young people are assessed and provided for, developing, and maintaining effective working partnerships with health professionals.
• Ensure that participation in a range of therapeutic, social, and recreational activities/opportunities for individual or groups of young people is encouraged.
• To ensure that all children have a full and appropriate education timetable. To be able to form positive relationships within education institutions, leading promoting and advocating for the educational needs and rights of the child.
Salary: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year

Working as a Children's Residential Support Worker, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have an experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood. You must be driven to ensure that the children and young people have an experience of childhood that they deserve, one filled with fun, laughter, friendship and discovery.
• Using your experience and skills – further developed with our support and training, you will assist with the care of our children and young people.
• Training includes reflective practise to consistently improve the way we care for children.
• You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
• You will create timetables, setting boundaries and expectations for the young people. Consistency and organisation skills are key.
• You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.

ight Wake Residential Support Worker your focus would be on providing this safe and caring environment while also offering opportunities for young people to maximise their independence and engage in ordinary living and community life.
• Provide support to children during the night ensuring they are supported in a sensitive and person centred approach in accordance with the individual’s care and support plan. ensuring people are kept healthy and self.
• To provide a swift response to any incidents or concerns during the night shift and where appropriate follow the on-call escalation policy.
• Maintain records contemporaneously through out the night and be able to update plans and risk assessments as needed.
• To ensure that the health needs of young people are assessed and provided for, developing, and maintaining effective working partnerships with health professionals.

• Complete cleaning tasks throughout the night to ensure that the home is up to standard and maintains cleanliness.
• We are looking for applicants with experience of supporting children with learning disabilities to join our team as a Night Wake Residential Support Worker.
All applicants must be over the age of 22 as per the children's homes regulations.
Salary: £11.00-£11.50 per hour
Shift Pattern - 19.00pm-7.30am 3/4 shifts per week which will alternate with both waking nights initially.
This will complete our staff team to enable us to take on our first young person.
